A $25 registration fee per dancer per season is due at the time of enrollment.
Tuition is a set dollar figure, posted on the 1st of each month. Payment is due by the 10th of the month. A late fee in the amount of $35 will automatically be applied to any overdue account on the 11th of the month. Families are encouraged to enroll in auto-pay to never miss a payment.
Monthly tuition payments will be made regardless of studio closures for holidays and school breaks. Breaks are taken into consideration when setting tuition pricing for the year.
Ensemble Ballet Theatre must be notified in writing of any enrollment changes on or before the 27th of the month.
One of Ensemble Ballet Theatre's core values is diversity and inclusion, making dance arts accessible to all. If financial assistance is needed to meet studio tuition, fees, and/or dress code, please contact EBT Academy of Dance’s Studio Director at office@ebtballet.org.
*IMPORTANT SALES TAX UPDATE:
Due to a change in Washington State tax law, effective October 1, 2025, dance classes are classified as “live presentations” and are subject to sales tax.
As a result, Ensemble Ballet Theatre will begin collecting sales tax on tuition effective May 1, 2026. Tuition is inclusive of regular classes, master classes, camps, and intensives.
The current sales tax rate for Covington, WA is 9.2%, which includes both state and local tax.
What this means:
-
EBT will begin including sales tax to tuition charges starting May 1, 2026
-
Tuition paid prior to May 1 will not be taxed, however EBT will remit the required sales tax to the Department of Revenue.
-
Sales tax applies to the net tuition amount after discounts, scholarships, or family caps
-
Registration fees and late fees are not taxable
-
Performance Division membership dues, audition fees, and fundraising are not affected
-
Production ticket sales are not affected
This change is required for compliance with Washington State law. EBT has remitted the required sales tax per the regulation, however, continuing to absorb the tax is not sustainable for our non-profit.
