If you're planning to bring your children to the ballet for the first time this weekend, you are in for a magical experience! Our production of Once Upon a Time is designed to captivate audiences of all ages, especially young ones. Here's what you can expect and how to make the most of your ballet adventure as a family.
A Story They’ll Recognize and Love
Once Upon a Time brings beloved fairytale characters to life through dance, music, and stunning costumes, sets, backdrops and props.
Whether your child knows Rapunzel, Thumbelina, Little Red Riding Hood or Hansel and Gretel, they'll love seeing their favorites on stage in a whole new way.
A Theater Experience Made for Families
Our performances are family-friendly and welcoming.
We understand that not all little ones can sit perfectly still, and that’s okay! While we ask for respectful theater behavior, this is a great place to introduce your child to the magic of live performance without the pressure of perfection.
Show Length and Timing
The entire experience runs about two hours, starting with a short supplemental piece performed by EBT’s senior dancers (under 20 minutes), followed by a 10-minute intermission. Then it’s time for Once Upon a Time, which also includes a brief intermission—perfect timing for younger attention spans. We recommend arriving 30 minutes early to find your seats, get settled, and enjoy the pre-show buzz.
Talk About It After
Some of the best moments happen after the curtain falls. Ask your kids what their favorite part was, which character they loved most, or how the dancing made them feel. It opens up great conversations—and maybe even sparks a new interest.
We can't wait to welcome you and your little ones to Once Upon a Time this weekend! It’s a beautiful way to introduce children to the arts and create a special memory together.
🎟️ Tickets are still available—grab yours now and get ready for a fairytale to be brought to life on stage.
